St. Louis Pizza means Family Style Pizza
We created a tribute to Authentic St. Louis Pizza
We grew up in St. Louis. Most afternoons, we played outside til dinner. On the weekends, we visited with friends on our front porch and played kick-the-can until all hours with all the neighbor kids.
Weekends in St. Louis meant a rag-tag group of brothers riding their bikes from downtown Maplewood up Hampton Avenue, through traffic, past the zoo, around Forest Park and back. We stopped to fuel up on day-old donuts and if we were lucky, got our hands on a “free soda” from a broken machine at the Amoco at Manchester and Hanley.
We grew up in St. Louis. We rode St. Louis. We considered every St. Louisan part of the family. We ate pizza and toasted ravioli with meat sauce any time we could and decided to create a true tribute to Authentic St. Louis Pizza.
3Gerards Pizza is Authentic St. Louis Pizza in it’s purest form: Old School St. Louis.
A Pizza Family
Robert Joseph (the “non-Gerard” and craziest driver) delivered pizza for Cyberg’s in Afton. Thomas Gerard (the oldest Gerard), delivered pie for Imo’s on Big Bend to make few extra bucks and later delivered for Papa Johns. Richard Gerard and Scott Gerard both worked at Farotto’s in Rockhill – back when there were only 3 tables if you can believe it. We did just about everything there – dishwashing, prep, serving and making pizza.
There is a true heritage and rich history of St. Louis Pizza in 3Gerards.
